Outside Oil & Gas

As we have developed oil and gas properties in Oklahoma, Marjo has taken on roles outside of the oil and gas industry.  We have become actively involved in farming and ranching as part of our respect for agriculture, and we have contributed to the communities that have encouraged our growth.  Below are some highlights of what we do outside of our original business.

MMK Properties, LLC

Cattle Ranch

MMK Properties originated from Marjo's acquisition of 320 acres of range land in Lincoln County, OK in the summer of 2003.  Shortly after obtaining this land, Marjo purchased approximately thirty head of cattle to run on the properties.  Marjo has continually made improvements to the land through the clearing of unwanted timber and brush, new fence construction, and new pond construction.  MMK, an LLC owned by Marjo's principals, is now the managing entity of our cattle ranch, which has grown to approximately 1,000 acres of maintained range on which we run approximately 50 head of cattle.  MMK has planted Bermudagrass on approximately 200 acres of the ranch, while leaving the rest in productive native grasses.  Another 200 acres of the ranch is utilized annually for hay production.

Wheat Farm

Since 2006, Marjo has also acquired 320 acres of land in Kay County, OK, which is utilized for wheat production.  This land is custom farmed for us by Bob Diemer, who possesses decades of experience with farming in this area and has achieved maximum performance from his own farming operation.

Community Activities

Marjo is also proud to support the communities that have allowed us to grow.  Marjo has made general monetary donations to Perkins-Tryon Public Schools, Carney Public Schools, the Carney Volunteer Fire Department, and the Perkins Thomas-Wilhite Memorial Library.  In 2006, Marjo assisted the City of Carney in building a senior citizens' center.  Marjo has also assisted the Carney Betterment Association in constructing an eight-man football field for Carney High School.
